Sensor Solutions for In Line Sensing
MTC ElectroCeramics offers a range of sensors for a variety off sensing requirements on equipment using medical tubing.
In line Sensing
- Ultrasonic methods can be used to detect air bubbles and measure flow
- Piezo resistive principals are used to measure pressure changes / occlusions
- Optical sensors can be used to detect the presence of items such as tubing, flow stop mechanisms or even the colour of the liquid in the tubing
- Temperature sensors can be used at critical points in equipment
Sensor Solutions
Sensing technologies can be combined to provide OEMs with a complete multi-functional integrated sensor package from a single-source.
For example, the air-in-line sensor can be combined with optical sensors to detect the presence of the pipe or that the housing is correctly closed, for fail-safe operation.
A temperature sensor can be incorporated into a Piezo ultrasonic sensor to provide built-in temperature compensation, for more accurate measurement in variable environmental conditions.
By combining multiple sensors in a single package in this way, OEMs can reduce the number of components in their product, and simplify the supply chain for more cost effective manufacture and faster time-to-market.
