Occlusion Sensors

For the medical device industry MTC ElectroCeramics supplies occlusion sensors. These are often found in medical equipment such as infusion pumps, dialysis machines, enteral feeding pumps and other liquid processing equipment.

Occlusion Sensor

Sensors can be supplied for sensing pressure changes non invasively in medical tubing with standard tubing. Accuracies of +/- 0.1 bar or better can be achieved using this method.

For more accurate sensing it is necessary to use a membrane incorporated in the disposable set to sense the pressure changes. Using this method accuracies of around +/- 0.03bar can be achieved.

Occulsion Sensor Applications

For these products application MTC ElectroCeramics is able to design and manufacture customer specific solutions. Complex assemblies are designed and developed using 3D solid modelling software and FEA software for fast and accurate detailed designs. These designs will often include a custom design clamp or clip to hold tubing or disposable set in place for accurate measurements.
