Manufacturing Engineer(s)
The Role – Principal Objectives:
A member of the engineering team, with primary responsibility for engineering project management and continuous improvement (cost reduction, quality improvement and lead time reduction etc)., key responsibilities would include: -
• Manufacturing engineering responsibilities will include (but not exclusively) Production tooling design & manufacture, new product introduction, product manufacture costing/estimating, production support and management of engineering projects.
• Working with quality / CI teams, to drive continuous improvement using appropriate and innovative ‘tools’, in order to achieve overall business objectives of process/material cost reduction, waste reduction, quality improvement and lead time reduction.
• To take responsibility and be accountable for the effective management of Capital and Engineering projects.
• Work to pre-agreed objectives and targets, as determined by the business unit’s Engineering Manager and in line with business objectives.
• To work within Engineering and other business systems and follow defined procedures.
• To achieve World-class engineering standards.
The Person – Key Requirements:
• A minimum of five years experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Experience of batch manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Proven and successful project management is essential.
• Proven experience of process improvement / value engineering is essential, with particular focus on ‘Six Sigma’ and Lean Enterprise.
• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of achievement in Problem Solving.
• Must be experienced in CAD, preferably using AutoCAD.
• Experienced in Tool / Jig design.
• Experience of Control systems engineering (including PLC) would be an advantage.
• Experience of Machining / Grinding, using CNC equipment, would be an advantage.
