The Role – Principal Objectives :
• Design and acoustic modelling of ultrasonic transducers in line with our customers’ needs.
• Proposing design solutions to meet customers’ electrical, mechanical, ergonomic and aesthetic needs
• Optimise design by material and geometry to achieve specific acoustic parameters, sensitivity, bandwidth, sensor position
• Specification and sourcing of components specific to the design and customers requirements, e.g. cables, connectors, cable strain relief etc.
The Person – Key Requirements :
• Good working knowledge of solidworks solid modelling package
• Experience of using industrial FEA package, preferably PZFlex, but will consider Ansys, Abaqus, PIGS
• Understanding of acoustics and wave propagation or piezo resistive strain measuring is a distinct advantage.
• Minimum 2:1 Degree in relevant engineering discipline.
